EPPP Part 1 Preparation

PrepGen.ai now supports the EPPP (Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology, Part 1 - Knowledge). The bank went live with more than 1,300 questions covering all eight ASPPB content domains and every one of the 42 topic areas beneath them — distributed in blueprint proportion, so practice time lands where the exam puts its weight.

Content Coverage

All eight content domains are covered, with approximate blueprint weights:

  • Biological Bases of Behavior (~11%) — neurobiological correlates, psychopharmacology, behavioral genetics, imaging methods
  • Cognitive-Affective Bases of Behavior (~13%) — intelligence, learning, memory, motivation and emotion, information processing
  • Social and Cultural Bases of Behavior (~11%) — social cognition, relationships, group processes, personality, culture and intersectionality
  • Growth and Lifespan Development (~12%) — normal development, individual-environment interaction, family functioning, risk and protective factors
  • Assessment and Diagnosis (~16%) — psychometric theory, assessment methods, differential diagnosis, base rates, psychopathology
  • Treatment, Intervention, Prevention and Supervision (~15%) — treatment efficacy, intervention techniques, consultation, telepsychology, supervision
  • Research Methods and Statistics (~7%) — sampling, design, analytic methods, statistical interpretation, critical appraisal
  • Ethical, Legal, and Professional Issues (~15%) — APA and CPA codes, professional standards, statutes, ethical decision-making

Weighted the Way the Exam Is

The difficulty of the EPPP is breadth, not depth. Eight domains drawing on coursework taken years apart, and a scaled score in which one weak domain can pull the whole result under the line. Studying each domain in equal slices quietly overweights the smallest ones — so the PrepGen.ai bank distributes questions in blueprint proportion instead, and reports readiness domain by domain rather than as a single percentage.

An Explanation for Every Option

Each distractor is built on a specific confusion — a rival theory, a neighboring diagnosis, a misread statistic — and carries its own explanation. On an exam this broad, knowing why the answer you nearly chose was wrong is usually more valuable than knowing why the right one was right.

Full-Length Simulations

A 225-item sitting runs four hours and fifteen minutes, and fatigue in the final hour is a real failure mode. Full-length simulations let you rehearse it rather than discover it at Prometric.

Get Started

  1. Log in at prepgen.ai or open the PrepGen.ai app.
  2. Go to Professional Exams and select EPPP.
  3. Take a diagnostic spanning all eight domains before planning anything.
  4. Rebuild the flagged domains, then switch to weighted mixed sets and full-length simulations.

The blueprint, fees, and candidate handbook are published by ASPPB, and licensure requirements — including the passing score and whether Part 2 is required — vary by jurisdiction. Confirm both, then start practicing on PrepGen.ai.
