MCAT

MCAT Prep in India 2026 - Practice Questions and Mock Tests

Passage-based practise across all four MCAT sections for students in India applying to medical schools in the United States and Canada.

The MCAT rewards reasoning over recall. PrepGen.ai gives you passage sets and discrete questions across all 28 topic areas of the AAMC content outline, each with an explanation for every answer choice - not just the correct one. Built for applicants preparing from India, where the MCAT is delivered at a limited number of Pearson VUE centres on AAMC-published international dates. Official dates, fees, and registration are published by the AAMC.

Your next MCAT study block

  • Open with a timed passage set in your weakest section to see where the reasoning breaks down, not just the content.
  • Practise discrete questions on the specific topics that passage set exposed - amino acids, circuits, research design, whatever it surfaced.
  • Read every explanation, including the ones you answered correctly, and note which distractor you nearly picked.

Tip: on CARS, the correct answer is the one the passage supports - not the one that is most true about the world. Train yourself to point at the line that proves it.

Why PrepGen.ai MCAT Practice Works

The MCAT is long, and most of the difficulty is in applying familiar science to an unfamiliar experiment. PrepGen.ai lets you practise passage-based sets under real section timing, then analyse your results by topic and by question type - useful when you are preparing from India without a local test-prep circuit to compare notes with.

All Four Sections, All 28 Topic Areas

Chem/Phys, CARS, Bio/Biochem, and Psych/Soc, broken into the same topic areas the AAMC content outline uses - so a weak result points at something you can actually go study.

Passage Sets, Not Just Flashcard Questions

Research-style passages with figures, data tables, and multi-question sets, because that is how the real exam asks you to reason about an experiment you have never seen.

An Explanation for Every Option

Each distractor is written to match a specific misconception, and each carries its own explanation - so a near-miss teaches you why you nearly missed it.

Section-Level Timing

Work against the same clock as the real thing - 95 minutes for the science sections, 90 for CARS - so you practise at exam pace rather than discovering it on test day.

MCAT Questions by Section

Work section by section, or let the adaptive engine pick. Either way you practise against the same content outline the AAMC publishes. Learn more on the professional pricing page.

Focus Area

Questions by Section

Four scored sections, each with its own reasoning demands.

  • Chemical and Physical Foundations: forces and energy, fluids and circulation, electrochemistry and circuits, acid-base equilibria, thermodynamics and kinetics.
  • Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills: comprehension, reasoning within and beyond the text, humanities and social science passages - no outside content required.
  • Biological and Biochemical Foundations: proteins and amino acids, gene to protein, bioenergetics and metabolism, cellular organization, organ systems and homeostasis.
  • Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations: sensation and perception, identity, social processes, social structure, and health disparities.

Timed Sets and Full-Length Simulations

Build the stamina the exam actually tests. Run a single 95-minute science section, or sit the whole thing end to end.

    MCAT Format, Timing, and Scoring

The MCAT is a computer-based exam administered by the AAMC at Pearson VUE test centers. Four scored sections, 230 questions, and roughly seven and a half hours in the chair once breaks are counted.

    Exam Structure

    • Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems - 59 questions, 95 minutes

    • Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills - 53 questions, 90 minutes

    • Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems - 59 questions, 95 minutes

    • Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior - 59 questions, 95 minutes

    Question Types

    • Most questions come in sets attached to a passage describing a study, an apparatus, or an argument

    • The rest are discrete questions that stand on their own

    • CARS is entirely passage-based and assumes no outside subject knowledge

    Scoring

    • Each section is scaled from 118 to 132

    • Total score runs 472 to 528, with 500 at the midpoint

    • There is no penalty for a wrong answer, so never leave one blank

    Test Day

    • Delivered at Pearson VUE test centers on AAMC-published dates

    • Optional breaks between sections bring total seated time to about 7 hours 30 minutes

    • Scores are typically released about 30 to 35 days after your test date

Check the official AAMC details before you register

International seats fill early and there are fewer test dates outside the United States. Registration deadlines, fees, and accommodation requests are set by the AAMC - treat the official site as the source of truth.

    MCAT Study Plans

Two shapes that work, depending on how much runway you have. Both end the same way: full-lengths, practise under time, and a review habit you can sustain.

    3-Month Intensive Plan

    • For a dedicated study period with few competing commitments
    • Weeks 1-6: content review paired with daily topic sets in the section you are reading
    • Weeks 7-10: timed section blocks, one full-length per week, review the day after
    • Weeks 11-12: full-lengths and targeted repair only - no new content

    6-Month Longitudinal Plan

    • For studying alongside coursework, research, or clinical hours
    • Months 1-3: one section at a time, 20-30 questions a day, CARS every single day
    • Months 4-5: mixed timed sets, one full-length every other week
    • Month 6: weekly full-lengths, and drill only what your score reports keep flagging

    Suggested Routine

    Daily CARS

One or two passages a day, every day. CARS improves with sustained exposure and almost never with cramming.

    Review Longer Than You Practice

Spend more time on the review than on the set itself. For every miss, name the misconception the distractor was built on.

    Full-Length Rhythm

Sit full-lengths at the same time of day as your real appointment, so test-day stamina is something you have already rehearsed.

    MCAT FAQs

    General FAQs

How many practice questions does PrepGen.ai have for the MCAT?+
We do not publish a fixed number, and a headline count would not tell you much on its own. What matters is coverage: all four scored sections are represented. The bank is expanded continuously, so how much you can practice is set by your plan rather than by a fixed bank size.
    How long is the MCAT?+
Test content runs about 6 hours 15 minutes. With check-in, the tutorial, and optional breaks, total seated time is roughly 7 hours 30 minutes.
What is a good MCAT score?+
Scores run from 472 to 528 with 500 at the midpoint. What counts as competitive depends on the schools you are applying to, so compare against the published ranges for your specific list rather than a single national number.
Should I guess on questions I do not know?+
Yes. There is no penalty for a wrong answer on the MCAT, so an unanswered question is strictly worse than a guess.
How much CARS practice do I need?+
More than most students plan for, and spread thinner. CARS responds to daily exposure over months far better than to concentrated blocks in the final weeks.
    Does PrepGen.ai replace AAMC materials?+
No. AAMC practice materials are the closest thing to the real exam and should anchor your final weeks. PrepGen.ai is the volume in between - the daily practice, the topic repair, and the analytics that tell you what to fix.
