JEE Main 2027 prep: mock tests and chapter-wise practice
Prepare for JEE Main Paper 1 with chapter-wise Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics practice, timed mixed sets and analytics that show where your marks are going.
JEE Main is the national engineering entrance conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for B.E./B.Tech admissions at NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutions, and it is the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced. Session 1 applications are open now.

Your next JEE Main session
- Take a diagnostic across Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to find the chapters costing you the most marks.
- Practise chapter-wise in short timed sets to build speed and accuracy.
- Review every wrong answer before the next set: negative marking applies to both MCQs and numericals.
Tip: with Session 1 in January, the weeks before it reward mixed timed sets and mock review more than starting new chapters.
Why PrepGen.ai works for JEE Main aspirants
JEE Main rewards concept depth, calculation accuracy and the judgement to skip a question you are unsure of. PrepGen.ai helps you build all three with an adaptive loop: practise -> analyse -> focus -> repeat.
New to PrepGen.ai? See how it works and start with a short diagnostic.
Chapter-level targeting
See which chapters in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are losing marks, and drill those instead of re-solving what you already know.
Timed sets that build exam pace
Short timed blocks and mixed-subject sets train you to move across all three subjects within the three-hour paper.
Mistake patterns into a plan
Turn every wrong answer into a repeatable fix: why it happened, what to revise, and what to practise next.
Progress across both sessions
Track accuracy over time so the gap between Session 1 in January and Session 2 in April is spent on what still needs work.
JEE Main practice tests and chapter-wise questions
Start with a diagnostic, then build momentum through timed sets. PrepGen.ai helps you practise the right JEE Main questions, review mistakes quickly and run a weekly mock cycle alongside school and coaching.
Subject-wise JEE Main practice
Build chapter accuracy first, then add speed with timed mixed sets.
- Mathematics: calculus, algebra, coordinate geometry and vectors, with speed and accuracy drills
- Physics & Chemistry: concept application, numericals, reaction patterns and error-control practice
JEE Main mock-test routine
Use each mock deliberately: attempt it under time, review it in depth, and revise only the concepts that keep costing marks.
JEE Main 2027 exam pattern
JEE (Main) has two papers. Paper 1 is for B.E./B.Tech admissions and is also the eligibility test for JEE (Advanced); Paper 2 is for B.Arch (Paper 2A) and B.Planning (Paper 2B). Paper 1 is a three-hour computer-based test in two shifts: 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM IST.
Mathematics
25 questions
20 MCQs (Section A) + 5 numerical-value questions (Section B)
Algebra, calculus, coordinate geometry, vectors and 3D
Negative marking applies in both sections
Physics
25 questions
20 MCQs (Section A) + 5 numerical-value questions (Section B)
Mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, modern physics
Negative marking applies in both sections
Chemistry
25 questions
20 MCQs (Section A) + 5 numerical-value questions (Section B)
Physical, organic and inorganic chemistry
Negative marking applies in both sections
Because numerical-value questions carry negative marking too, a confident guess is no longer free. Track your accuracy by question type and only attempt what your practice data says you get right.
JEE Main study plans (2-12 weeks)
Pick a plan by the time you have left. Each follows the same rhythm: diagnostic -> targeted practise -> timed mixed sets -> full mock + deep review.
2-4 weeks
- 5-6 sessions/week (60-90 min)
- Fix the highest-weightage weak chapters first
- 2 full mocks with deep review
6-8 weeks
- 5 sessions/week (60-90 min)
- Rotate Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics by day
- A full mock every week from week 3
10-12 weeks
- 4-5 sessions/week (60-75 min)
- Build chapter depth and keep it with spaced revision
- 4-6 mocks, with Session 2 as a second attempt
A weekly routine for JEE Main aspirants
One subject focus per day + a short timed set + error-log revision.
One three-hour mock in the exam shift timing, followed by a full review.

How do I register for JEE Main 2027?+
Apply online only, at jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA advises logging in with your own DigiLocker, JanParichay or e-Pramaan (MeriPehchaan) credentials, doing Re-KYC through DigiLocker first so your latest details are fetched, and making sure your name and date of birth match your Class 10 certificate. Only one application per candidate is allowed.
Can PrepGen.ai register me for JEE Main?+
No. Applications, fee payment and admit cards are handled only by NTA. PrepGen.ai helps you prepare.
Preparation
How many practice questions does PrepGen.ai have for JEE Main?+
We do not publish a fixed number, and a headline count would not tell you much on its own. What matters is coverage: all three subjects are represented - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The bank is expanded continuously, so how much you can practise is set by your plan rather than by a fixed bank size.
Is PrepGen.ai free to use for JEE Main?+
Yes, you can start with free JEE Main practice. Upgrade for unlimited questions, timed mocks and advanced analytics.
How many JEE Main mock tests should I take?+
Two to six full-length mocks, depending on how much time you have left, with a full review after each one. Review matters more than volume: practise the questions you got wrong before taking the next mock.
Can I use PrepGen.ai on my phone?+
Yes. You can practise JEE Main questions on your phone between classes and coaching, and your progress syncs across devices.
